Do you ever get tired of hearing people complain about their pain?
It can get depressing. And it makes it hard to take positive steps in your life if you're surrounded by negativity. While pain talk can help validate our pain, it has been shown to worsen our pain. Conversely, well talk has been shown to reduce pain intensity. Some tips:
I see this way too much pain talk in Facebook pain support groups. That’s why I started my own support group where we don’t allow any complaining, woe is me or negative talk. The group is called Chronic Pain Champions – No Whining Allowed. Check us out! A great short video talking about chronic pain and the need for a holistic rehabilitative approach.
